About the event
Through reflection, discussion, and definition-setting, participants will examine their current literacy practices and approaches in grades 6-12. The workshop will focus on an asset-based approach to literacy instruction through centering student choice, personal writing ecologies, and interdisciplinary literacy skills in school-based inquiry projects. At the end of the workshop, participants will leave with how to support student agency in secondary literacy spaces as well as strategies to promote interdisciplinary literacy skills.
